Anytime Anywhere Weddings

"Rev. BJ"
I would be honored to be a part of your special day.

We can have your wedding pretty much any way you'd like, ie, traditional (standard or modified versions), spiritual, non-religious, or contemporary.

I can officiate your wedding vows inside my available office space, in a church, outside at the beach, on a mountain, at a lake, on a motorcycle, or in a tree, if that's what you both want!  It's your day, and your rules are the only

WEDDING  FEES

One of our first steps is a "meet and get acquainted" consultation at either a Starbucks, your home, a restaurant or the Tigard office, which is near Washington Square.  We can also just "meet" via e-mail or on the phone, if that is easiest for everyone.  Obviously, there is no charge.

If we decide to work together on your wedding, there is a $50 non-refundable deposit required.  This is needed to secure your date and time for my services.  This is, of course, taken off the total fee for your wedding.

My base rate for a small ceremony in the Tigard office or somewhere close in the Portland area, is $175.

There is a travel charge for anything over 15 miles outside of Portland, Oregon.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

Now comes the fun stuff!  We get to sit down together and discuss ideas for your wedding ceremony and share suggestions.

Again, whatever fits your personality and whether you both want traditional or non-traditional, what I say to you during your ceremony can be made-to-order just for you.  Some couples like to write their own, while others like me to come up with words to say specifically for them.  There are some who prefer to say their own vows, which is a wonderful way to start your lives together, also.

After our consultation, I can e-mail you (don't you LOVE modern technology?) what we have discussed.  Then we can e-mail each other and fine-tune what I'm to say, to your specifications right up until the day of your ceremony.

If you're going all out, with bridesmaids etc., a rehearsal the night before helps everyone figure out BEFORE the nerves kick in on the wedding day, where they stand and when they walk, when the musical interludes are etc., so it all flows as smoothly as possible.

Marriage License Information

In Oregon, your marriage license can come from any County and will then be good in any County in Oregon.

You cannot get your marriage license and then hold onto it for more than 60 days before using it.  It then becomes null and void.

And you cannot get married any sooner than 3 days after you get your license.  Some counties allow you to apply for your license by mail, but I don't think that would be as much fun...do you?

After the wedding, you must go back to the County you acquired your license from and pay them another fee to obtain a Certified Copy of your marriage license.  It usually takes a week or so for them to record it, then you can get copies.  This would be necessary to have if the bride is planning on changing her name.

The Certified Copy is the one you will need to change your name.  The DMV should probably be your first stop, then the Social Security Administration, banks, etc.

The State of Washington laws are similar to Oregon and I'm a licensed facilitator authorized to perform weddings there, also.

For more information, your best resource is always your County Clerk.

Thinking of Eloping or having "just" a Justice of the Peace type of ceremony??  Not a problem.  Just let me know if you would like me to officiate at the Tigard office or a park, etc.

Beautiful Same Sex ceremonies are also available.  Obviously, you would only be "legal" in your own hearts and souls.

Lovely Memorials are a wonderful way to celebrate the life of a loved one who has passed on.  People or pets.

Please don't hesitate to call or e-mail me for more information on any of these ceremonies.
