Alteration prices are based on the time it will take to accomplish the alterations needed. I can have as many as 40 hour into one dress. The more detail or style/construction challenges there are on the dress the more expensive alterations will be.
If you would like buttons added I have access to satin buttons in Ivory or white. There are many textures and dye lots of fabrics to get a match it is best to order directly from the manufacturer through your bridal shop so that they will perfectly match your dress. Adding buttons can get expensive between the cost of them, and labor. You may want to do some research on the cost of adding them to your dress if this feature is important to you so you can add it into your dress budget.
Most dresses need some sort of alteration done to them. A more complicated dress with fitting challenges may require more extensive alterations than originally thought. If this is the case then there may be additional charges. I start more conservative, and then if needed adjustments are made. I discuss everything with you through the whole process so you are not surprised.
It is important in any relationship to have excellent communication. That goes for me as well. Why be unhappy when you can be happy? I always ask my brides what they think...How does the dress feel?... If there is anything else?...Are you happy? Fabric, design, and the construction of a dress can make achieving the desired fit a challenge at times. I work very hard to do everything humanly possible to make my brides happy, and look amazing on their day. It is important to be realistic in your expectations. If you are not happy with the dress you selected before you come in for alterations it may be in your best interest to select a different dress. You can come in for a consultation, and I will discuss your options with you. It might just be a matter of taking the dress in or something like that.are unhappy with the dress.
Fit starts with the selection of the right dress. If you are a woman who does not like cleavage or are very modest a plunging neckline is not what I would suggest. It is what it is. Unless you want to fill in the neckline with fabric or lace to bring the neckline up it is in your best interest to make sure the dress you select is a style you will feel comfortable in on your wedding day. This is also a great way to save money. The more alterations that need to be done the more you will spend in alterations. As I said previously I do everything humanly possible to make a bride happy, but there are limitations in what can be done based on the fabric, design, and the construction of a dress ...
The bustle of a dress is determined by the style of the dress, construction, and fabric. A french bustle on a lace dress or tulle is not the most complimentary to the dress. It is not what I would recommend. Sometimes a certain type of bustle with a style of dress will work best for getting more of the dress up off of the floor. When you come in I show you the options in bustling for your dress, and the cost for each style. I discuss the pros and cons. Then you can choose what you like from the styles that will work great with your dress. To bustle a dress starts at 18.00 and goes up from there.
